Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023)

Amidst all the recent controversies about aliens resurfacing in the news media, you tend to wonder whether all this is a propaganda or a diversion. Mexican journalist and long-time UFO enthusiast Jaime Maussan claimed that alien bodies were discovered in Peru and he showcased them in a hearing. The question that needs to be asked as to how these bodies were transferred to Mexico without the permission of the Peru government. Whatever it may be, it still works in promoting alien themed movies and spreads doubts and debates all around. Coincidentally, the story of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts happens to surround the area of Peru.

While the movie Transformers is not a recent phenomena, it surely was made as a diversion tactic. Don Murphy, creator of the Transformers movie franchise chose to release the movie over G. I. Joe’s adaptation during the time when the US invaded Iraq over some false propaganda about weapons of mass destruction. Though both G. I. Joe and Transformers are part of Hasbro’s figurines that we all have played with in our childhood, the story of G. I. Joe was based on the American military science fiction action storyline. Much like the reason why the US invaded Iraq. Don’s natural choice was to have a diversion and release Transformers instead showcasing aliens.

For movie lovers, it’s a good thing that we see a variety of genres through propaganda and diversion politics. The reason that I am pointing it out is more because we as an audience are only allowed to know how much is approved to be validated in the public domain. The rest is a mystery. Coming back to the movie, the storyline of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts indeed makes a decent and compelling case of introducing G. I. Joe in the final closing scene making a way to the most obvious crossovers. It surely is a great idea to have, especially knowing the fact that the Transformers storyline has nothing new to offer. It’s always about autobots trying to save their planet but ends up saving only the Earth.

Aren’t we all tired of the same storylines with different characters? I must admit that the first Transformers movie was a huge success starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. We all are pretty sure that the movie relied heavily on Megan Fox for its huge success but the creators felt they should cast a new second lead in the third installment of the movie, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Contrary to this popular belief, Rise of the Beasts boasts of no such thing. The cast is simple and yet engaging enough with their acting talents to make us hooked to the screen. I believe Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback do a fairly tough job quite easily.

Other than that, the choice of the location, Peru is indeed obvious for autobots to have a fight for the reasons I mentioned before. The good aspect is that we do not lose Bumblebee and it reprises in the final fight giving us hopes that the original Transformers storyline is still intact. The better aspect is that Noah Diaz played by Anthony Ramos does turn into a G. I. Joe in the middle of the fight gives us glimpses of what’s coming next. And, the best aspect is in the climax confirming the G. I. Joe’s division in the American secret military. Now, we definitely hope to see a crossover.
